The Food Menu Module is used to add, update, or delete meals for your organization. All meals are administered from this admin tool. The Lunch Menu tool is used to display the menus on a page.

Tool Actions
- Add Meal to Date: Select to add a new meal to the Food Menu calendar.
- Menus: Manage the available food menus.
- Lines: Manage the lines available to add to each menu.
- Items: Manage the food items that can be added to the lines and menus
Menu Items
- Menu: By default, all menus will be selected. With this selection, all meals will display. You can use the dropdown to view meals for a specific menu.
- Select the arrows to navigate to previous and future months/weeks/days. Select the "today" option to go back to today.
- Use the month, week, and day selections to change the view in which the events display.
- The calendar will display the events for the menu and view selected.
- Select a day to add a new meal to the day. See the Add Meal section below for more information about adding meals.
- You can select a meal to update the details or delete the event.

- Food Menu: Navigate back to the main page of the Food Menu module.
Food Menus
- Sort Order: Menus are listed in the order that was selected when they were added.
- Menu: Displays the name of the menu.
- Number of Events: Displays the number of meals that are on the menu.

- Update: Change the menu name, position in the list, and "always" items.
- Delete: Delete the menu and all meals associated with the menu.
- Export Menu: Export all meals in the menu between selected dates. It will be downloaded as a TSV file.
- Import: Import menu items in the menu. See the Food Menu: Import article for more information about importing menus.
Add Menu
- Position After: By default the new menu will be positioned after the last menu. This can be changed by using the drop down and selecting a different menu for the new one to be positioned after.
- Name: Add the desired name for the food menu.

- Show # Entries: By default, 10 lines will display on each page. You can update this to display 10, 25, 50, or 100 lines per page.
- Search: Use the search area to search for a line.
- Sort Order: Lines are listed in the order that was selected when they were added.
- Line: Displays the name of the line.

- Update: Change the line name, position in the list, menus the line is in, and always items.
- Delete: Delete the line. This will remove it from all menus it is in.
In the table you can sort by columns by selecting the header. The sort arrows () indicate which columns you can use to sort information.
Use the previous, next, and page options at the bottom of the tables to navigate through the pages of banner images.
Add Food Menu Lines
Line Settings
- Position After: By default the new line will be after the last menu. This can be changed by using the drop down and selecting a different line for the new one to be positioned after.
- Name: Add the desired name for the food menu.
- Menus: Select the menus this line should part of. By default, all menus will be selected.
Always Item Settings
Items in the Selected column are automatically added to menus as long as there is something else being served that day. This is intended to minimize repetition for things like beverages or salad bars that are offered every day.

- Export Items: Export all items in the menu. It will be downloaded as a TSV file.
- Import Items: Import items from an excel sheet by following the directions provided.

- Update: Update the item name, description, ingredient statement, etc.
- Delete: Delete the item. This will remove it from all meals and menus.
Add Food Menu Items
- Name: Add the name of the food item. This is the step that is required to add a food item. The rest are optional.
- Description: Include a description of the food item.
- Ingredient Statement: List the ingredients of the food item or potential allergens it may contain.
- Serving Size: Add the serving size of the food item.
- Serving Weight: Include the serving weight in grams of the food item.
- Nutrition: Search for the food item's nutrition information from the FoodData Central database at fdc.nal.usda.gov.

Event Settings
- Menus: Select the Menus to add this meal to. This creates duplicate events across the selected menus.
- Date: The date will default to the day selected unless Add Meal to Date was selected. In that case the date will default to today. This can be changed by typing a new date or clicking the calendar icon to pick a date from a calendar.
- Event Repetition: Select how often the meal will be repeated. If an option besides None and Specific Dates is selected, a Repeat end date will need to be selected in order to save the meal.
Content Settings
Content Type
Select one of the two content setting options.
1. Description: Write a description of the meal.
2. Items and Lines: This option allows items to be added to the lines. The lines that show up are from the selected Menu(s) in the Event Settings. Select an Item from the list to add it to the Line. Once it has been selected, the item will move to the "selected" section.
