In working closely with team members from the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), our team here at 4Schools has come to appreciate just how broad and deep the changes are needed to achieve compliance with the amendment of Act II. "Paradigm shift" is how key leaders are aptly describing these changes in effect for 2026 - 2027.

Yet the paradigm shifts continue in other key areas of school communications. Merging technology in mobile app and websites have us releasing our new integrated mobile app as a Progressive Web App (PWA), decline of home computers and home printers with the ever steady rise of mobile-everything use is changing how families need and want to receive important and every day communications.

CMS4Schools is working to develop new and updated technologies and tools for our school districts to use, but we have also heard you loud and clear: training! We've answered that with a first grouping of training opportunities. Continue below to see the upcoming lineup and registration links.

Understanding the Paradigm Shift of ADA and Section 504 in the Digital Space

Thursday, December 5, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

In this special, one-time webinar, Mary Lou Mobley of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights (OCR), will present vital information about the current state of the law, discuss a recent paradigm-shifting amendment to Title II of the ADA setting technical standards for web content and mobile apps, and share suggested strategies for getting ready for the change.

The changes in the law affect more than your school's website. These changes affect all the digital access and equipment within the classrooms and buildings, and Ms. Mobley will provide insight as to how these changes apply to every area of your district from human resources to information technology, impact procurement decisions and more.

This session is intended for Superintendents, Principals, Information Technology, Procurement, Human Resources, Business Managers and all administrative and school leadership.

OCR Lessons in Auditing Your Website

Join us as Jessica Plitt, Senior Civil Rights Attorney from the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, provides a special opportunity to learn how OCR audits and reviews websites for web accessibility.

In this presentation, Jessica will present lessons in manual auditing a website to help teach school districts how to evaluate their websites to ensure they are accessible. This session is scheduled for a one-hour presentation followed by 20 minutes of open Q&A time.

Accessible PDFs

Our CMS4Schools team members are offering a limited offering of an overview on why PDFs need to meet accessibility, best practices and suggestions for use of PDFs versus web or other type of digital content, and then dive into how-tos, tips and tools in creating accessible PDFs.
