When selecting to add a new contact or edit an existing contact you can update the information for an individual contact. To add/update multiple contacts, you may want to Import Contacts. See the Import Contacts article for more information about importing contacts.
Note that the contact information for any contacts that are syncing from your school information system should be updated at the source of your sync (ex. Skyward, Infinite Campus, JMC, etc.).
Add Contact
In the "Select an Action" dropdown, select to "Add contact".
Enter contact information for the new contact.
- First Name: Provides a space for you to enter the first name of the contact.
- Last Name: Provides a space for you to enter the last name of the contact.
- Contact ID: Provides a space for you to enter a unique identification value for the contact.
- Phone Number 1: Enter the contact’s 10 digit phone number starting with the area code. Checking the checkbox tells the system that this person should be contacted by telephone to receive the configured message.
- Phone Number 2: If the contact has a secondary number, enter the 10 digit phone number starting with the area code. Checking the checkbox tells the system that this person should be contacted by the secondary number to receive the configured message.
- Phone Number 3: If the contact has a third number, enter the 10 digit phone number starting with the area code. Checking the checkbox tells the system that this person should be contacted by the third number to receive the configured message.
- E-mail 1: Enter the contact’s e-mail address. Checking the checkbox tells the system to contact this person by e-mail with the configured e-mail message.
- E-mail 2: If the contact has a secondary e-mail address, enter the contact’s e-mail address. Checking the checkbox tells the system to contact this person by the secondary e-mail with the configured e-mail message.
- OK: Saves the contact and returns you to the List Details page.
- Cancel: Cancels all changes you made and returns you to the List Details page.
After adding the contact, the contact will be enabled and appear in the list of contacts. See the List Details article for more information about list details.
