This article reviews adding pages and links and page and link settings.
Add Page or Link
At the top of your navigation builder, select "Add Page" to add a new page or link within your site's navigation.
- Navigation Link Name: The name of the link that will appear in the website navigation. Keep the link name short yet descriptive.
- Navigation Type: Select to add either an internal web page or a website link.
Note: Website links should be used rarely for the best user experience.- Internal Webpage:
- Physical File Name: Enter the name that you would like to be used as the URL for the page.
Note: Keep this short yet descriptive. Add a "-" between any words. - Page Title: Enter the title for the page. This can be the same as the navigation link name if desired or you can make this page title more descriptive to inform visitors of the content they will find on the page.
- Advanced Settings: View the Advanced Page Settings section below for more details about the advanced settings.
- Banner: Use the dropdown to select which banner image you would like to display on the page.
- Add Banner: Select to add a new banner image for the page. This banner image will be added to the Banner Library and be available for use by all users.
Note: You will only be able to add banner images if you have been granted this permission by your website administrator.
- Physical File Name: Enter the name that you would like to be used as the URL for the page.
- Website Link:
- Browser Type: Select if you would like the link to open in a new browser (external websites) or an existing browser (page within your site).
- URL: Copy and paste the URL for the link.
- Internal Webpage:
- Navigation Link Status: Default is Active. You can set the page as inactive if you don't want the page to be included in your website's navigation. It can be useful to set a page as inactive while you are working on adding content.
Note: Both Active and Inactive pages have active URLs and can be viewed by visitors if they have the URL/link. This page may also appear in search results. - Navigation Order: Use the drop-down to select where in the navigation this link will appear.
- Navigation Level: Select the desired navigation level. Level 1 links are the main links. Level 2 and 3 links are subpages for Level 1 links.
Click Add to create the page or link. The page will be added to the navigation builder.
Advanced Page Settings
- Meta Tag Robots: Index tells the search engines if they should index the page to show your page in search results. Follow tells the engines if they should follow links to the next page. The default value when creating a page is index,follow.
- index,follow: Search engines index the page and follow links.
- index,nofollow: Prevent search engines from following links.
- noindex,follow: Prevent search engines from indexing the page.
- noindex,nofollow: Prevents search engines from indexing the page and following links.
- Publication Status: Published pages are able to be viewed and searched while unpublished pages are not able to be viewed by any end users or search crawlers.
Use the Schedule A Status Change button to schedule the page to be published/unpublished on a certain date.
